Preliminary information on the Crossout update 0.9.90

Greetings, Survivors!

Today we would like to tell you about our plans for future changes in the Crossout update 0.9.90. From the previously announced: we still plan to release a new PvP map ‘Tower’, the ‘Domination’ mode and a new raid, where you have to destroy a Leviathan. You can learn more in our development blog.

Please note that the plans described in this blog are preliminary and may change during the work on new features or may not appear in the game at all.

Let's look over the plans for balance changes. In the upcoming update we plan to:

  • Increase reloading speed of the ‘Junkbow’ shotgun.

Developer comment: ‘We consider Junkbow's reloading speed a little too low. If the player failed to hit the opponent the first time, there was very little opportunity for a second shot. We will increase reloading speed to make playing with this weapon easier for inexperienced players.’

  • Reduce spread of the ‘M-37 Piercer’ machine gun and increase the range of its fire.

Developer comment: ‘With the current range and accuracy, ‘Piercer’ is the most effective at close range, where it competes with shotguns. We increased accuracy and range of fire to distance it from the close combat weapons.’

  • Introduce a number of tweaks for drones and turrets (‘MD-3 Owl’ and ‘RT Anaconda’).
    • Increase turret rotation speed and reduce the delay before the shooting begins.
    • Owl and Anaconda missile explosions will no longer deal damage to their owner, and the missiles themselves will no longer explode on contact with the player's drones.

Developer comment: ‘At the moment, Owl and Anaconda's performance does not meet our expectations, and the complexity of their use has a significant impact on this. We have improved the behaviour of the Owl's missiles, and they will no longer damage the owner of the drone and will ignore the player's other drones. This change will simplify both the installation of several drones on the machine, and their use in combat. ”

  • Increase the range of the automatic weapon ‘Caucasus’.

Developer comment: ‘With the new targeting system, Caucasus has ceased to be a fully automatic weapon and has become a transitional element between conventional weapons and weapons controlled by AI. We believe that for effective play in a new role, it does not have enough range, which we plan to fix in the nearest patch’.

  • Reduce durability of ‘ST-M26 Tackler’ and ‘Prometheus V’.

Developer comment: ‘We consider the effectiveness of Tackler and Prometheus to be too high, and this is due to their rather high survivability in combat. We consider it necessary to reduce the durability of these guns’.

  • Limit the number of mines that each ‘Kapkan’ can place on the map at a time.

Developer comment: ‘One player with the help of a Kapkan can completely block passes on the map or create entire mine fields, using several minelayers at once. We believe that this gameplay reduces the dynamism of battles and gives the team too much advantage. Therefore, we decided to limit the number of mines, which each ‘Kapkan’ minelayer can place on the map at a time’.

  • Increase the jet range for ‘Draco’ and its rate of fire, as well as increase the area affected by the fire by increasing the fire angles.

Developer comment: ‘The Draco flamethrower may not be a support weapon, but it seems it can perfectly be combined with other weapons such as shotguns and melee weapons. We increased the flame jet's speed and the spread of the flamethrower to increase the effectiveness of flamethrower combos with other weapons. With these changes, it will be able to heat the enemy car parts faster and in greater numbers’.

  • Increase durability of the flamethrower ‘Firebug’, as well as the range of the flame jet.

Developer comment: ‘For a melee weapon Firebug has a very large size, and this greatly complicates its protection and reduces survival in battle. Therefore, we decided to increase its durability’.

We would also like to raise the issue of earning plastic in raids of normal difficulty. We carefully analyzed the latest statistics, as well as the numerous feedback and suggestions of our players from all platforms, and concluded that the amount of plastic obtained does not meet our expectations. Therefore, in the update 0.9.90, we plan to increase the amount of plastic earned during raids.

In addition to the above changes, we also plan to improve the in-game interface, add a few new structural parts and fix many known bugs.

This is all for now. Good luck on the battlefields, Survivors, and let's get ready for the update 0.9.90!
