Survivors! Our servers have received an update with the new faction ‘Dawn's Children’. The update also presents new types of weapons, modules and hovers that allow the machine to soar above the surface. We have also added new maps and a new mode ‘Chase’.

Also we’re working on an enhancement of our matchmaking system. In battles, where players ride vehicles of high PS, all the participants should be matched so, that both teams would be as balanced as possible. Speaking about low PS battles it’s important to mention that some players shouldn’t have any overwhelming advantages over other players due to their weapons or equipment. We’ll announce separately, when the updated matchmaking system will be launched.
 
New faction ‘Dawn's Children’  

 
After the disaster, some people have acquired genius-level inventiveness. This gift quickly changed people. The so-called gadgeteers lost their intelligence faster than the others, fled to the wasteland, leaving behind unfinished ingenious inventions, which often exploded and could rarely be copied.
But not everyone went crazy or fell victim to their own experiments. A group of scientists led by Riley found a way to significantly delay the arrival of the gadgeteer madness, as well as resist the deadly effects of Crossout virus.
The faction ‘Dawn's Children’ is available to players who have reached reputation level 10 with the Nomads.
Together with the faction, we have added new parts and a new co-driver.

  • Deals damage to all targets in the aiming cone. Effective for fighting multiple enemies at once.

  • Module that contains spare parts and assemblies for instant production of small mechanisms. Increases the number of launches of any drones and turrets by 25%. When destroyed, it explodes and deals 400 damage within 5 meters.

  • Rarity: epic.
  • Power consumption — 4 units.
  • Creates a stationary protective field of large radius, absorbing damage from rapidly flying objects and energy flows for a few seconds.
  • Ammunition of the weapon in raids is automatically replenished every minute when the reserves are empty.

‘Neutrino’ scope

  • Rarity: epic.
  • Power consumption — 1 unit.
  • Two zoom levels and target highlights — everything an experienced sniper needs Also increases detection radius to 400 m.

‘Aegis Prime’ protective field

Now, upon reaching level 2 the faction, the player gets a new portrait ‘Rocket’

  • One of the inventors and testers of the protective suit you'd hardly find a Dawn Child without. The prototype was cumbersome and uncomfortable, but it saved Rocket's life and mind, so she decided not to tempt fate and refused to change it to more modern models.

Now, upon reaching level 7 the faction, the player gets a new portrait ‘Spike’

  • Crazy about science fiction and comics since childhood. Of course, he wanted to become an astronaut, but an injury in his adolescence closed that door. After depression and several unsuccessful attempts to get a job, he was hired as a security guard by a laboratory. And when strange things unfolded with space and time, he turned out to be one of the most prepared for change and formed the backbone of Dawn's Children.

Now, upon reaching level 15 the faction, the player gets a new portrait ‘Daedalus’

  • A true mad genius. It was he who achieved stable work of hovers and understood the principle of the work of several artifacts left by the gadgeters, which allowed the children to reach the technological levels never seen before.

 
Changes in the mechanics of gaining access to factions
With the advent of the second high-level faction in the game, the mechanic of gaining access to them changes. This change allows us to link the starter and high-level factions more closely, aligning them with a common history and aspirations. So:

  • Joining the ‘Steppenwolfs’ faction will now be available after reaching Level 10 in the ‘Scavengers’ faction.
  • Joining the ‘Dawn Children’ faction will now be available after reaching level 10 in the ‘Nomads’ faction.
  • ATTENTION! Those players who already are or have been members of the ‘Steppenwolfs’ faction, but do not meet the new requirements, will not lose access to the faction.

Developers comment: Analysis of the statistics of ‘Convoy Escort’ showed that each separate game session did not meet our expectations for the duration, and the raid lacked dynamics.So a number of changes were made to the mode:

  • The truck no longer stops when it takes damage.
  • The truck ignores the presence of the player's car in front of it, and will try to keep moving.
  • An unescorted truck will continue to move at 40% of its maximum speed.
  • A hint was added for far-away players about their impact on the speed of the truck.
  • Removed force-stop points for the truck

Raids

  • Destruction of turrets in ‘Heist’ and ‘Convoy Escort’ now counts as minimal activity in battle.
  • Ammunition reload time reduced to 1 minute.

Developers comment: ‘After some observation, we came to the conclusion that increasing the number of players to six did not make the mode better, but, on the contrary, added excessive fuss to the process of raiding.At this stage, we decided to reduce the number of participants in the group back to 4. This will allow players to more accurately coordinate their actions and distribute roles, as it was before.Thank you for participating in the testing!’

New map: ‘Cursed mines’


 

  • The map is only available in ‘Chase’ and ‘Escort’.

Map ‘Founders Canyon’

Analysis of the battles on the map ‘Founders Canyon’ showed that a very large percentage of victories are made by capturing the base. We decided to change the map by closing unnecessarily wide passages for the players. As a result, the map was significantly redesigned:

  • Changed the layout of the map.
  • Landscape, cover were tweaked.
  • Lighting adjustments
  • Changed appearance of the map, added new objects
  • The map is removed from the rotation of the raid ‘Assault’ .

New system of earning resources
We would like the reward for completing difficult raids to be extremely valuable. In the world of Crossout, electronics are a rare and valuable resource that is used in the production of powerful and rare weapons. In this regard, we decided to transfer electronics to the category of PvE-resources. Nevertheless, participation in raids is not the only option for obtaining electronics.  Players always have the ability to get various resources in battles, and then sell them on the in-game market. And with the earned coins, players can purchase all the missing elements for crafting. In the future, we would like the world of the wasteland to change dynamically and set new goals and objectives for players that would offer various rewards. We want our players to take part in various activities and, among other things, trade resources. All changes in full will be shown on the global map, which in the future will visually unite all missions and raids into a single world. (the appearance of a global map is planned within the framework of one of the following updates).
Now electronics can be obtained in difficult raids. The amount of fuel needed to participate in difficult raids is going to be reduced. The number of raids available at the same time will be increased. Eventually:

  • In the ‘Mission’ PvP mode, you can obtain resources such as scrap metal, wires and fuel. In the PvE-mode ‘Raid’ you can get resources such as: copper, coupons and electronics.
  • Electronics can be earned in special difficult raids.
  • The amount of fuel needed to participate in difficult raids, is reduced to 60 units.
  • Attention! The process of copper production does not change.  Copper can still be obtained in individual raids of any difficulty.

Developers comment: Autocannons were not effective enough compared to other weapons, this change is intended to correct this and give the opportunity to increase the efficiency of autocannons with additional modules.
MG13 Equalizer

  • Damage reduced by 10%.
  • Bonus damage when using a unique skill is increased by 5%.

Developers comment: We want the influence of the unique Equalizer feature on the experience of its use to be higher. This change is also aimed at improving the synergy of the minigun with radiators and is designed to make the weapon and its use with other modules more interesting.
 
Shotgun BG2 ‘Goblin’

  • Added the option to produce the shotgun on the rare ‘Lunatics’ workbench (Lunatic cutting board).
  • Damage increased by 20%.
  • The weapon now has 50% penetration (50% of the enemy damage to the shotgun passes through it).

Developers comment: The new shotgun did not turn out as good as we wanted.The large dimensions and complexity in use were not fully compensated for by low power consumption and additional contact damage. These changes are designed to make assemblies with Goblins more competitive.
 
Shotgun ‘Thunderbolt’

  • The structure of the gun is reduced by 10% (from 154 to 139 units).
  • Developers comment: We want structure of the parts to match their size and weight. This change is the first step along the way.

Turret cannon ZS-34 ‘Fat Man’

  • Added a unique feature of the gun: a direct hit from the gun speeds up the recharge until the next shot for 0.5 sec.

Developers comment: Although Fat Man is a fairly effective weapon, but due to not having a unique skill, it lost to other epic weapons and did not reveal itself fully. This change is intended to fix this.
Clarinet TOW

  • The speed of the missile in the first phase is reduced by 60% (the phase of manual flight control), in the second phase — by 70%.
  • The speed of the rocket's turn is reduced by 20%.
  • The acceleration of the rocket is removed.
  • Damage dealt by the rocket is reduced by 70%.
  • Recharge time reduced to 7 sec.
  • The duration of the guided flight was increased to 11 seconds.

Developers comment: Recently Clarinet was often found in battles at low PS, where players are not experienced enough and are not ready to counteract this type of weapon.Also, because of the high speed of the flight, the rocket was extremely difficult to bring down, and often there were bugs in the behavior of the rocket. With new corrections, the missile should become more vulnerable to quick-fire weapons, and small and fast armored cars will have a chance to dodge it. In addition, thanks to these corrections, we want to solve the problem with the incorrect behavior of the rocket in flight.Reducing recharge time reduces the cost of a miss in combat. We would also like to note that we will continue to work on weapons in order to make it as balanced and interesting for players as possible.
MM5-4 Vector

  • Weapon damage increased by 10%.

Developers comment: ‘Vector had shown good results due to synergy with coolers, but because of the change of the latter, the gun's efficiency in combat fell.A small increase in damage should compensate for this.’
‘Spitfire’ shotgun

  •  Weapon damage reduced by 15%.

Developers comment: ‘Spitfire had higher damage and structure, which compensates for its small angle of fire.We consider such compensation excessive and are sure that even with damage at the level of other shotguns, Spitfire will remain an effective weapon.’
‘Caucasus’ Machine Gun

  • Structure of the machine gun is reduced by 40% (from 492 to 300 pts.).
  • Turn speed reduced by 75%.

Developers comment: ‘Before the upgrade, Caucasus was a universal tool against all crafts in the game.Increased structure, as well as automatic aim, were the main reasons for its use in the so-called bot herders. These changes add some vulnerabilities to ‘Caucasus’ and make it more balanced relative to the rest of the weapons in the game.’
 
Equipment
‘Fuze’ drone

  • Drone structure reduced by 25% (from 200 to 150 pts.).

Developers comment: ‘Since its inception Fuze has shown itself as too effective on the battlefield.Ignoring the drone could have ended pitifully for almost any player. In addition, often, the damage simply was not enough to destroy the approaching threat. As with the Sidekick, this change will increase the chances of players to remain intact in the confrontation with the kamikaze drones and does not affect its damage.’
 
‘Sidekick’ drone

  • Damage dealt by the drones is increased by 100%.

Developers comment: Like the previous improvement of the Sidekick, this change is aimed at increasing its competitiveness and bringing the module to the level that was originally intended for it.

  • Drone structure reduced by 25% (from 200 to 150 pts.).
  • Spread increased by 15%.
  • Fixed a bug where drone damage could increase by 50%

Developers comment: ‘As part of the update 0.7.40, Sidekick's damage was increased by 100%, which was a necessary measure due to its extremely low level in the previous iteration.However, this module proved to be too effective in combat. Reducing structure and increasing spread during shooting now allow players to effectively fight the drone without loss in the damage rates of the drone itself.’
 
Attack drone

Developers comment: ‘This change should force players to move closer to the enemy for an attack, this will make the game more risky and will require more skill from players using attacking drones.
 
 
Radiators
Changed the mechanics of radiators. Now, instead of increasing the heating limit, they will reduce the speed of heating for the weapon. Due to this change the radiator still increases the duration of continuous shooting, without affecting the cooling time.

Weapon cooler

  • Increases weapon cooling speed by 50%.

Improved Cooler

  • Increases weapon cooling speed by 70%.
  • Added a unique feature that gives a bonus to efficiency depending on the speed of the machine. The lower the speed — the higher the bonus. It gives an additional effect of reducing the heat rate to the already existing one.

Developers comment: Earlier, the mechanics of the radiators work, together with the increase in the maximum duration of the shooting, also led to an increase in the cooling time of the weapons, which made them less useful than we would have liked.In the new version, we removed this negative effect and corrected the efficiency of radiators.
Current coolers have too high efficiency for modules that consume only 1 unit. Energy.The damage of some assemblies with them could be more than doubled. Also, the increased efficiency was often leveled by the radiators, which they put in pairs. The new parameters correspond more to their low power consumption.
New unique features of the epic radiator and cooler are designed to emphasize their differences and bring more variety in the design of machines.
Invisibility module ‘Chameleon’

  • Duration is reduced to 6 sec,  cooldown time is reduced to 25 sec, and requires only 1 unit of Energy.

Invisibility module ‘Chameleon Mk2’

Developers comment: We believe that the advantage that invisibility modules give were difficult to realize because of high energy requirements.Chameleons often lacked space in many interesting builds. Active time and recharge time have also been adjusted to the changes in power consumption.

Containers
With the release of this update, we change the system of drops from containers. ‘Steppenwolfs’ and ‘Dawn's Children’ are high-level factions, which only the most experienced survivors are able to join, and their use should reflect an exceptionally high level of game progress. In this regard, the Steppenwolfs faction stops supplying containers with its own technologies.

  • Now you can get ‘Steppenwolfs’ parts only with the help of workbenches or buy them on the market.

 
We examined player feedback about the new container system and decided that it needs to be reworked. As a result, we added 2 new containers to the game, which are intended to replace existing ones, as rewards for being in the game for 2 and 14 hours.In them we decided to remove the temporary details. It is worth noting that within the framework of the new system, we plan to periodically change the contents of these containers to constantly offer players new and interesting loot!

Blueprint of the armored car ‘Survivor’ from the pack ‘Immortal warrior’ is improved.
The system of counting points in combat has been revised

  • For direct destruction of a part or destruction of an opponent, points are awarded to players in proportion to the damage dealt to that part or the enemy's cabin.
  • For indirect destruction of parts:
    • ‘Indirect destruction’ occurs when a part falls off because its base part is destroyed.
    • Players who have dealt damage get points based on the degree of damage to the part.
    • Players who deal damage to the base of this part receive points depending on the remaining structure of that part.
  • No points are awarded for destroying AI vehicle parts.
  • For destruction of AI vehicles points are awarded to players in proportion to the damage dealt to the cabin.
  • For destruction of other gameplay objects (static turrets, pumpjacks) points are awarded in proportion to the damage inflicted.
  • Players who do not damage the part for more than 15 seconds do not receive points.This rule does not apply to damage to gameplay objects.

The mechanics of perks, related to the distance traveled have been improved

  • Now the upgrades related to the distance traveled are related to the speed of rotation of the wheel and its size.
