End of optimization for video cards with DirectX 10 and 10.1
Our project is constantly evolving, and we strive not to stop there. This applies not only to new content, but also to the visual part.
Throughout the entire existence of Crossout, we tried to support hardware and software that did not meet even the minimum official system requirements for as long as possible. Sooner or later, the moment comes when all the limitations associated with such support prevent the implementation of new features, which could improve the visual part of the game even further.
In this regard, in update 0.12.30 we plan to end the optimization for video cards that do not support DirectX 11 functionality (old video cards, the level of which is limited to Direct X 10.0 and 10.1). The game will continue to run on such systems, but only in the compatibility mode with older video cards, which cannot be disabled. You can identify the active compatibility mode with old video cards by the small “Ultra low quality” inscription in the lower right corner of the screen.
This forced step will open new horizons for us, and we hope that you, our players, will be able to appreciate the benefits of these changes in the future.
Thank you for your understanding!
