Physical and visual model improvements for wheels. Mass testing

Hello there, survivors!

We would like to devote today's mass testing to movement parts, which in one way or another are used by everyone. Whether you are boosting your reputation with the factions or are already a threat in any battle, wheels hardly ever fail you. And the edits being tested are aimed at making sure they never do.

We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. You can study all the planned changes in detail on the special test server!

For sure, many of you have already noticed that the physical model of some wheels did not match their visual model. Many fans of building a car with their own hands often wondered why the wheels could not be placed closer to each other, although visually there is enough space for this? Today we suggest you test the changes that should remove all these questions.

For the test, we changed the radii of the physical and visual models of wheels (now they are identical), their width, as well as the minimum distance at which another wheel can be placed to make them easier to use when assembling vehicles.

Here's more for those who want to know everything (1 pin = 1 “cube” in build mode):

Small wheel

  • The radius of the physical wheel model has been reduced by 5%.
  • Wheel width reduced by 1 pin (was 4, now 3).

Medium wheel

  • The radius of the physical wheel model has been reduced by 5%.
  • The minimum distance between two such wheels reduced by 1 pin (was 5, now 4).

Studded wheel

  • The radius of the physical wheel model has been reduced by 11%.
  • The minimum distance between two such wheels reduced by 1 pin (was 4, now 3).
  • Wheel width reduced by 1 pin (was 4, now 3).

Chained wheel

The minimum distance between two such wheels reduced by 1 pin (was 5, now 4).

Racing wheel

Landing gear

  • The radius of the physical wheel model has been reduced by 18%.
  • Wheel width reduced by 1 pin (was 4, now 3).

Stallion

The radius of the physical wheel model has been reduced by 18%.

Array

The minimum distance between two such wheels reduced by 1 pin (was 5, now 4).

  • The minimum distance between two such wheels reduced by 1 pin (was 5, now 4).
  • Wheel width reduced by 1 pin (was 4, now 3).

Twin wheel

  • The radius of the physical wheel model has been reduced by 7%.
  • The minimum distance between two such wheels reduced by 1 pin (was 5, now 4).

What else is interesting about the test?

Hovers

Earlier we have already announced that we are working on changes to hovers (or more precisely to “sidewalking” crafts) and plan to include them in the upcoming update 0.11.30. The first iteration of changes can already be evaluated on the test server, but we warn you in advance that it is not final and will still be refined and changed.

  • Hovers can be mounted on all sides of the frame.
  • Crafts with hovers are now more sensitive to terrain irregularities.
  • Hover turn speed reduced.
  • Hover tonnage reduced from +850 kg to +750 kg.

Clarinet TOW

  • Changed the perk. Now, during the whole time of the missile's flight, all parts of your car receive 20% resistance to all types of damage.
  • The time of the second phase of the missile flight (unguided flight) was reduced from 8.25 seconds to 6.5 seconds.
  • The weapon reloads faster (6 seconds instead of 7 seconds).

How to get to the test server?

If you have ever participated in testing features on a special server, then just start the Launcher from the folder with the test client and wait for the update to complete.

  • Create a new folder for the game on your hard drive.
  • Download the Launcher from this link. The file name should not contain numbers indicating that the file is a duplicate. Please note that you should launch the file that does not contain any digits (1), (2), etc. in its name. If, when starting the installed launcher, you are logged into the live game servers, you need to delete all downloaded launchers from the download folder and try again.
  • Start the Launcher and install the game into the folder you created (for example D:\Public test\Crossout).
  • After the installation is complete, start the Launcher and log into the game with your username and password.
  • The progress of your main account will be transferred to the test server (including parts in storage and levels of reputation with factions).
  • After logging into the server, to transfer progress from your account, press the “Esc” key and select “Copy account data”.
  • Please note the schedule of the test server:
    • Friday, April 3, 2020, from 14:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
    • Saturday, April 4, 2020, from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
    • Sunday, April 5, 2020, from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
  • Any progress you make on the test server will not be transferred to the live game servers (INCLUDING ATTEMPTS TO BUY PACKS).

After testing the changes, we invite you to leave your constructive feedback on the planned changes in THIS THREAD (it will open a bit later after the launch of the test server).

You can report all issues found on the test server here.

The public test server is intended only for testing of the upcoming update, and may not accommodate all players without exception. However, absolutely anyone can join the server, as long as there are free spots.
