New major Crossout update. Part 1
Today, we are starting a traditional series of development blogs, in which we will tell you and show you the new features of the upcoming major update. Let’s go!
We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This applies not only to information about possible unique features of new parts, but also to the appearance of the parts themselves.
New relic weapon — saw launcher
You asked for new relic weapons that are different from the already existing ones — here you go! Meet the relic saw launcher, the first of its kind!
First of all, we’d like to note that the saw launcher will not be included in the season and in the battle pass. Like all other relics, it can be produced on the “Secret workshop” workbench.
The weapon shoots three circular saw discs at once. The number of such volleys is limited. The weapon reloads after each volley. Its horizontal and vertical aiming angles are limited. The disks fly along the ballistic trajectory, deal damage upon contact and get stuck in the object they hit.
If the disks hit the ground or any environmental object, they remain there for a certain time, and the enemies who collide with them will receive increased damage. This feature will be useful not only if you miss your enemy, but will also allow you to effectively (and efficiently!) stall the enemy who is rushing towards you, or blow up vulnerable parts of his car mounted to the frame area.
“Arena” is a new mode that will be launched with the next major update and will be available until the end of the season. In this mode, the battles are held only in the “3 vs 3” format and on special maps — arenas.
The maps for this mode are created so that the battle begins immediately. It will be possible to take part in the battle as part of a group or with random players. It is here, in a confined space, that outstanding individual skills and well-coordinated teamwork become equally important. Thanks to the “3 vs 3” format, you will always know what your teammates are doing and will be able to coordinate their actions, and each player will have a greater contribution to the battle.
In total, 2 variants of the “Arena” will be available for the players: standard and rating. The matchmaking of allies and rivals will be different for each mode: by Power Score in the standard mode and by rating points in the rating mode. The best players in the rating mode will be able to get unique decorations which will be a symbol of their skills and will not be available to other players.
The “Arena” mode will have its own rewards scale with levels, available to everyone without exception. All rewards in it will be free, and to unlock them, you will only need to gain points for winning in battles and completing the tasks. The rewards from the “Arena” scale are not related to the new seasonal Battle Pass rewards. The “Arena” scale and the new battle pass are two different things.
This is a mode for those who likes competition and the spirit of rivalry, but its entry threshold will be lower compared to Clan Battles. In many ways, it’s due to its unusual rewards.
The available rewards will include the ready-made blueprints of armoured cars, which can be used only in the “Arena” mode. The vehicles will be designed for different PS levels and will be ready for battle. This way, all players will be able to take part in the event: regardless of parts they have in their storage and the time they spent in the game.
There will also be a nice bonus — the ability to increase the current Battle pass level several times by unlocking a new level of the “Arena” scale.
And, as a teaser, we would like to show you the first of 3 planned maps for the new mode:
This map is a park created by “Sinto” corporation.
The playing area of the map is filled with various hills rising above the water with bushes, trees and elements of the park area (destructible objects). The hills allow you to control and cover most of the location and to shoot enemies occupying other hills or maneuvering between hills in the lowlands.
The unique feature of this map (as well as all other Arena maps) are its borders, which are filled with landmines. They won’t allow players to go far away from the battle.
In the next devblogs we will tell you about new parts of the next season, new CKs and other maps for the new mode. See you soon!
