What to expect in the upcoming update. October 2026
Hello, survivors!
While the Stahl’s elite squad is hunting Aris’s convoy, major changes are coming to the Wasteland with the next update. These changes are so significant that the Valley will appear the same again.
Major graphics update, the long-awaited rework of “Clan wars” and other competitive clan modes, Halloween celebration and much more are coming. Let’s check out the details!
We remind you that all the new features described in the “Developer blog” are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. This also applies to all visual materials.
Game graphics update
Time is moving forward, just like technology. Many years have passed since the last graphics update, and now it’s time for the Wasteland to get a makeover once again.
We have already shared a couple of examples of the updated visuals for the Wasteland on our social media. We'll cover all of this in detail in a full overview video and a comprehensive summary of these changes, which will be released on the day of the update. But we are going to share some info and show you a few things right now.
Looking at the grass in Crossout, and even touching it, has never been more enjoyable thanks to the new graphics. By the way, the vegetation now gets flattened by armoured cars! Overall, all the natural areas look and feel completely different. To achieve this, we’ve visually updated all the maps in the game.
The in-game engine now renders shadows and lighting with greater detail, generates volumetric fog, and handles water more impressively. As a result, the new look of the Valley is strikingly detailed.
The DLSS technology is returning, but in a new version (4.5) for Crossout, while FSR will receive an upgrade to version 3.1. Support for DirectX 11 will end with the next update. Unfortunately, these major technological changes are no longer compatible with this version of DirectX.
We strongly recommend that survivors update their GPU drivers. This could significantly affect game performance and visuals after the release of the update.
We can’t wait to show the survivors the renewed Wasteland. We don’t have to wait much longer, but in the meantime, we’ll share a few more screenshots featuring the game’s new visuals.

Competitive clan modes rework
In the next update, we’re changing the format of “Clan wars” (CW for short). The former mechanics will be replaced by the format from “Gauntlet of the survivors”.
Due to technical reasons, Clan Wars will be unavailable from October 12 to October 19.
The first seasons of the updated CW will begin on October 19. The initial leaderboard will be based on the previous “Gauntlet of the survivors” season.
The main rules of the mode will remain the same (you can find more details in this developer blog). “Clan wars” will now have two leaderboards and three types of missions, each with its own rules and availability, just like in “Gauntlet of the survivors”, but we’ve made some changes compared to the previous version:
- Clan ranking season will last for 4 weeks instead of 3;
- At the end of the clan ranking season, the personal rating drops to the minimum value of the penultimate league;
- Between the personal ranking seasons, the rating is reset to the maximum value of the previous league, just as it was before;
- Access to this mode is now additionally determined by holding the “Fighter” role or higher, and the “Veteran” role will allow you to invite players to your clan and accept or reject membership applications;
- Updated the matchmaking logic related to players from the same clan being in the same battle;
- Progress through the personal ranked leaderboard now occurs slightly faster;
- Changed the blueprint selection mechanic — now, after losing a round, all blocked blueprints become available again. This mechanic provides more freedom in choosing armoured cars, while limiting only the ability to win multiple rounds in a row using the same blueprint;
- Fixed a number of bugs and incorrections. The interface has also been improved;
- Implemented adjustments to the schedule to extend the mode’s availability for players in different time zones. Please note that “Clan confrontation” will now be unavailable during “Clan wars” hours without Leviathans.
The “Clan war: Leviathans” has been integrated into the new system:
- The main rules of the mode remain the same as they were before;
- Each member of the winning team will receive a reward in the form of uranium, within the limits of their personal ranking;
- Access to this mode does not depend on the players’ rating;
- Opponents are selected based on the highest personal ranking among the participants in the group;
- The result of the game does not affect the personal ranking.
Thus, “Clan war: Leviathans” provides an additional opportunity to obtain uranium ore within your limits.
Something else
New graphics require new in-game settings. With the release of the update, we’ll refresh and update the in-game settings window so that all sliders, checkboxes, lists, and other elements accurately reflect the new features.
As usual, the next update will bring a variety of brawls. Modes such as “Drones vs. Reptile”, “Test prototypes”, “Firefight”, “Impulsiveness” and others will return.
“Wild hunt” will also return to the scariest holiday of the year — Halloween! The “Shaman’s cauldron” will also be back in full swing.
In this update, we’ll also add the ability to view the “Exhibition” across different platforms. For example, PC players will be able to view the “Exhibition” of console players, and vice versa.
Finally, here’s a hint: the next “Battle for uranium” will feature a slightly different gameplay format, one familiar to the Wasteland veterans. But that’s a story for another time.
That’s all for now. Good luck in battles!
