Balance changes for wheels and tracks. Mass testing.

Hello there, survivors!

This week we would like to test the latest changes to wheels and tracks. The main purpose of the changes is to improve the ease of use of these chassis and their attractiveness for crafts at medium and high PS.

Please note that:

  • All the new features described here are not final and may be changed before they are introduced into the game or may not make it into the game at all. You can study all the planned changes in detail on the special test server!
  • Balance changes to weapons from the last testing will not be included in the upcoming update 0.11.40. They will be further refined and released in a separate small balance update.

Tracks

Small track

  • Tonnage bonus increased from +835 to +935 kg.
  • Power penalty reduced from -15% to -12%.
  • Turn radius reduced.
  • Enhanced lateral grip (the higher this parameter, the drift of the craft in turns).
  • PS increased from 150 to 215.
  • Mass increased from 185 to 285 kg. This edit will allow you to change the centre of mass of the car with small tracks, and it will be less frequently turned over.

Reinforced track

  • Tonnage bonus increased from +1750 to +1850 kg.
  • Maximum speed increased from 70 to 75 km/h.
  • Turn radius reduced.
  • Enhanced lateral grip.
  • PS increased from 225 to 250.

Armoured track

  • Power penalty reduced from -50% to -40%.
  • Maximum speed increased from 50 to 60 km/h.
  • Turn radius reduced.
  • Enhanced lateral grip.
  • PS increased from 360 to 500.

We would like to add that after the changes these chassis became more convenient and efficient, but at the same time, the requirements for the crafts using them have also increased. Now the location of the car's centre of mass is extremely important. Experiment with builds and share your insights and discoveries in comments and feedback topics!

Wheels

  • Improved surface grip for all wheels of “special” rarity.
  • Improved surface grip while drifting for wheels “Bigfoot”.
  • Increased speed at which the car with the wheels “Bigfoot” begins to drift.

We have heard your wishes to improve the wheels and agree with the idea that the rarity of the wheels should affect not only the usual parameters (weight, tonnage) but also such important things as grip. Now the convenience of using certain wheels better corresponds to their rarity, and you can evaluate it on a test server.

“Wedge” vehicles

The changes that we plan to make for the ”wedge” crafts are in progress. The test version is not ready yet, but we would like to share our plans with you.

We are currently working on a change that will add a part of the weight of the lifted machine to the weight of the “wedge”. The added weight will depend on how raised the car is and whether it has any footholds, except for the “wedge” craft. If the total weight exceeds the tonnage, the wedge's chassis will receive damage and may be destroyed.

How to get to the test server?

If you have ever participated in testing features on a special server, then just start the Launcher from the folder with the test client and wait for the update to complete.

  • Create a new folder for the game on your hard drive.
  • Download the Launcher from this link. The file name should not contain numbers indicating that the file is a duplicate. Please note that you should launch the file that does not contain any digits (1), (2), etc. in its name. If, when starting the installed launcher, you are logged into the live game servers, you need to delete all downloaded launchers from the download folder and try again.
  • Start the Launcher and install the game into the folder you created (for example D:\Public test\Crossout).
  • After the installation is complete, start the Launcher and log into the game with your username and password.
  • The progress of your main account will be transferred to the test server (including parts in storage and levels of reputation with factions).
  • After logging into the server, to transfer progress from your account, press the “Esc” key and select “Copy account data”.
  • Please note the schedule of the test server:
    • Friday, May 29, 2020 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
    • Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
    • Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 13:00 to 19:00 (GMT)
  • Any progress you make on the test server will not be transferred to the live game servers (INCLUDING ATTEMPTS TO BUY PACKS).

After testing the changes, we invite you to leave your constructive feedback on the planned rework in THIS THREAD (it will open a bit later after the launch of the test server).

You can report all issues found on the test server here.

The public test server is intended only for testing of the upcoming update, and may not accommodate all players without exception. However, absolutely anyone can join the server, as long as there are free spots.
