Upcoming balance tweaks update

Survivors!

We continue to keep you informed of planned changes to weapons that deal explosive damage. We carefully review your comments and suggestions, check them against in-game statistics, and make changes. Thank you for your active participation in the game's development!

We would like to remind you that announcements are being issued to keep you informed about the changes being tested. The tweaks themselves, up to the moment the update is released, may be changed before they are introduced into the game or not make it into the game at all.

Currently, cannons, like some other guns that deal explosive damage, are significantly outside of the overall balance of parts, and in many situations, they are the universal solution against any type of opponents and any guns.

Briefly about the innovations/changes, compared to the first announcement:

  • For balance reasons, only “Prosecutor 76mm” and “Executioner 88mm” will increase their power consumption. We plan to keep the energy consumption of the “Avenger” and “Judge” the same.
  • We would like to dispel doubts and explain in more detail how the updated mechanics of damage caused by explosive shells will work. Previously, all cannons (except for “Executioner” and “Prosecutor”) inflicted only explosive damage (shrapnel damage). Now the shells will inflict “gunshot” (when in contact with an enemy part) and “explosive” damage. To balance out the addition of a new type of damage, we will reduce explosive damage. Dealing “gunshot” damage when a projectile comes into contact with an enemy element has nothing to do with the unique features of the “Executioner” and “Prosecutor” on armour penetration.
  • We are currently working on and discussing different compensation options for those players who have more than 2 equally upgraded cannons that will change their power consumption.
  • It was decided to apply the updated mechanics to other explosive projectiles: course and homing missiles, as well as plasma guns. Autocannons and grenade launchers will not be affected by the change.
  • It is planned to change the perks of cannons “BC-17 Tsunami” and “CC-18 Typhoon”.
  • In the case of “Tsunami”, the time for receiving the damage bonus will be significantly reduced, but the bonus itself will be reduced as well.
  • In the case of Typhoon, a new perk is planned to be tested that will increase the time to reload enemy weapons if the projectile hits the target.

The mass testing of these changes is scheduled for this Friday. Everyone is welcome!
