Crossout: 2046 in review
Wasteland survivors welcomed 2046 in the battle testing stage.That's when the first Christmas tree appeared in the Crossout garage.
In March, the post-apocalyptic universe was supplemented with a new fun mode called ‘Leviathan’.Players were able to build their own giant monsters, which to this day instill fear into the hearts of raiders.
In April 2046 the project entered an exciting new phase of closed beta testing, which very soon will come to an end. During this time, much has been done.
The game now has a whole new set of unique locations. Of these, we would specifically like to mention perhaps the most beautiful Crossout map — ‘Old Town’.Dilapidated streets of the city abandoned by all residents can still strike even the toughest of warriors.
We also can't but mention the ‘Eastern Array’.This map is a road which runs along the long and narrow gorge spanning the entire map. It also passes through an abandoned radar station with only the crumbling antennae of long-range communications.
The world of Crossout was also enriched with new modes. Like the new ‘Convoy escort’ raid, where players need to defend an armored truck with valuable cargo from raiders.The route passes along a narrow gorge. In addition to constant clashes with solo raiders or small groups of bandits, a huge open space is waiting for the convoy defenders, perfect for an ambush. There's also a new raid ‘Heist’ where a group of players must steal valuable cargo from the settlement, despite the hordes of wasteland residents seeking to recover what's stolen.Test participants were presented with 2 brawls — ‘Storm Warning’ and ‘Every Man for Himself’. These are for survivors who do not like teamwork. Participants all fight each other instead of competing in teams. Only one hero can survive the massacre.
Interest in the game has grown significantly around the world. In June, a new server was launched in North America and Canada. The launch was accompanied by fascinating game events, where players could get thematic paints and portraits.
Last year Crossout world did not only increase. Some of its elements have been excluded from the project. For example the system of destructible parts. Since the end of July 2046 players are no longer afraid of losing their parts as a result of defeat in battle.
The first major event in the game, ‘Knight Riders’, was inspired by medieval romance.An expedition of Knights led by Martin drove through our wastes. With them they brought new paints for players, parts and decorative elements.
And one of the most anticipated innovations was the start of Clan wars. Clans from across the wastes could engage each other in a fierce tournament, which aimed to identify the best of the best! At certain times several groups of the most courageous representatives of each clan participate in a unique mission. Everyone who participates in the race can be seen by every survivor in the hall of fame.
2046 is memorable for Crossout's participation in 3 major exhibitions. Which were, of course, E3, Gamescom and Igromir.
At the end of December, the game launched into CBT in China. The game is going to be published by ‘Perfect World’.
